IBM Netcool solutions offer the information needed to align strategic business vision to operational objectives. Netcool solutions help enterprises monitor and manage the customer experience ensuring higher revenue and vigorous competitive advantage. The potential drawback in administering and maintaining a system like Netcool is the time and energy required of an Enterprise Management System of this caliber. Key company personnel endure rigorous training and certifications that help them effectively run the Netcool suite of products, but this isn’t always practical given the many competing demands on their time and resources.

But technology has advanced such that remote and web-based administration is becoming the preferred method of managing software in many industries. Many engineers and technicians are not always skilled in both Unix and NT platforms, yet many Enterprise Systems run on multiple operating systems and platforms. So with the need for mobility and remote access and cost-effective systems' administration, we built a Comprehensive UNIX-based, Web-Enabled Netcool Management and Administration Package: Netcool-WebAdmin.

In designing Netcool-WebAdmin, we had to not only transfer the entire Netcool desktop client functionality to the web, but also give end-users an intuitive and easy-to-use interface.
